Please do not misunderstand.
Japan does not have a "trade war".
Japan just took measures for "security".
Update of METI's licensing policies and procedures on exports of controlled items to the Republic of Korea
It is just the removal of the Republic of Korea from “White Countries”.
It is treated the same as the EU.
Up until now, Korea requests 100, Japan has been giving 100.
Korea reports 70 for using industrial goods but doesn't report 30.
Therefore, Japan regulates for giving just the necessary amount.

In 1941 he wrote a book about US diplomacy on Japan. In the book Syngman Lee insisted that US should prepare for the war against Japan.
After the liberation, Syngman Lee became the president of Korea. He made many laws against Japan. He is the one who proclaimed Dokdo(in your language 竹島) is the territory of Korea, also ordered to capture hundreds of Japanese fishing ships around Dokdo.
