Why were Japan and Korea never colonized by a Western force? I know that US, Britain, and France had several wars with Korea and were defeated. Is it due to the distance or high level of Korean/Japanese civilization?

It will NEVER be enough for them.  They are intent upon seeing Japan as an ATM where they can use war guilt to get more and more money.  It is time to say NO!
